Case Study: Championing Truth in Education

Challenge

Proviso Township District 209 faced a pivotal moment: how to strengthen its reputation, engage the community, and ensure that district-wide messaging truly reflected its values.

Approach

Partnered directly with the superintendent to craft a coordinated communications strategy across media, digital platforms, and internal channels. Directed staff and agency partners to execute the “Facts Matters” campaign, a bold initiative designed to restore confidence and foster transparency. Built relationships with local and regional media, securing coverage in the Chicago Tribune and other key outlets. Aligned messaging with community engagement goals, ensuring that students, parents, and educators felt informed and included.

Outcome

Elevated district reputation with measurable improvements in sentiment and visibility. Strengthened community trust through clear, transparent communications. Positioned leadership as a voice of accountability and progress in education.

Vinçon storefront 2015

It’s sad to see Vinçon closed as reported by The Guardián in July 2015 stating, “It was also famous for its shopping bags and during its last weeks, the shop remained open but empty, with only some 40 years of shopping bags on display. Its unusual and often witty window displays were another trademark of Vinçon’s commitment to style and originality.”

Above is a photo of my Vinçon bag, a keepsake from that 2009 gig.
